Moments From Childhood That Still Guide Me Today

Some of the things I remember most from my childhood taught me how to rely on myself. I used to spend hours looking up at the sky, dreaming of becoming a pilot.

Back then, no one could make that dream come true for me—I had to imagine myself taking control and reaching for it.

That feeling of wanting to find my own way has stayed with me all my life.

I also remember my parents hoping I would become a doctor. I tried to follow their wishes, but my results didn’t allow it. I had to make my own choice, so I went into civil engineering instead. It wasn’t what I had dreamed of, and it wasn’t easy, but it was my decision.

Those moments taught me that sometimes you have to move forward alone, even when the path isn’t clear and others have different expectations.

Over time, I realized that success isn’t just about grades or following someone else’s plan. It’s about finding what works for you and being brave enough to go after it, even if it means going alone.

Childhood taught me imagination, curiosity, and independence—the courage to step forward, even if no one is beside me.

Today, that lesson guides me in almost everything I do. I trust myself, make my own choices, and keep moving forward, even when it’s just me.

Those childhood moments are still my compass, reminding me that sometimes the strongest direction comes from within.
